Here’s the story
I was born in Warsaw in 1988, though I've spent my entire life in its suburbs. I graduated from Jan III Sobieski High School with a music profile while simultaneously completing second-degree studies at the Frederic Chopin Music School, where saxophone was my primary instrument. The time spent in music schools taught me perseverance and showed me that good results require hard work. This life lesson gave me tremendous motivation to make decisions and work persistently toward what I truly want to do for the rest of my life.
I studied Public Administration at the Warsaw Management University and subsequently began my education at the Warsaw School of Computer Science. These two fields helped me build a solid foundation for working in the IT industry, combining an understanding of organizational principles and management with a technical approach to problem-solving. The knowledge I gained during my studies proved extremely valuable in my later career, particularly in working on graphic projects and creating design systems, where precision, analysis, and planning are crucial.
I've been working since 2008 – my first job was in finance and insurance. For two years, I was associated with PZU S.A., where I gained valuable experience working in a large organization. However, over time, I began seeking a new career path that better aligned with my interests and ambitions. In 2010, I started working as a Graphic Department Assistant at a small digital agency, Euroadres. This was a breakthrough moment – my first job in the creative industry. I'm grateful to my then-boss for the trust he placed in me, giving me the chance to acquire initial skills in my dream profession. Thanks to this opportunity, I was able to discover what I truly want to do in life and what professional goals I want to pursue.
In 2011, I joined a team of experts at Poland's largest interactive agency – K2 Internet, where I took the position of Junior Graphic Designer. Working at K2 was an incredible opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and develop my skills in a dynamic environment. Each project I worked on was a challenge that allowed me to combine creativity with precision and attention to detail. In 2016, I took a job at the Starcom media house as a Graphic Designer, and then in 2017, I assumed the position of Senior Graphic Designer at Agencja Warszawa. These experiences allowed me not only to develop my graphic skills but also to learn effective collaboration with clients and teams, which provided excellent preparation for my further professional career.
From 2018, I worked as a freelancer, running my own business and completing projects for clients from both Poland and abroad. Initially, I collaborated with large agencies and intermediary companies that provided me with assignments, but over time, I began building my own client base through my portfolio, recommendations, and high-quality implementations. I specialized in designing websites, services, print materials, branding, and graphics for social media and spatial use. In my projects, I aimed to create solutions that were universal and adaptable, which already resembled the approach used in design systems.
Behind the scenes, I intensively developed my knowledge in UX and UI. I devoted evenings to training, reading books, and following industry experts, which allowed me to gradually acquire skills and prepare for entering the world of design systems. Working as a freelancer taught me not only meticulousness and independent project management but also flexibility and the ability to adapt to client needs.
In July 2021, I began full-time work at Pekao S.A. as a design systems specialist. This was a pivotal moment in my career – I could fully dedicate myself to designing and developing design systems in a large organization. Through collaboration with an experienced team leader who had extensive knowledge and experience in this field, I gained valuable skills and confidence. Our joint analyses, conversations, and actions confirmed my belief that design systems are my greatest passion.
Currently, I serve as a coordinator of the design systems team. I manage the team's work strategy, establish KPIs and goals, plan tasks in tools such as JIRA, and organize regular team meetings, such as weeklies and retrospectives. I regularly collaborate with designers, developers, and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and goal achievement. Working on design systems gives me immense satisfaction, especially in the context of implementing solutions in a dynamic environment full of challenges.
Looking to the future, I see myself as a consultant specializing in education about design systems. My mission is to make organizations aware of their value and the benefits they bring, as well as to advise on implementation strategies and coordination of design system teams. I want to inspire designers, developers, and business leaders to implement modern solutions that streamline collaboration, save time, and increase product consistency.
At the same time, I strive for perfection in my current job, developing the design system at Pekao S.A. to reach a level I can be fully proud of. I continuously expand my skills, particularly in presentation and communication, believing that the key to success lies in the ability to effectively transfer knowledge. Working on design systems is not only my passion but also a path that brings new challenges and satisfaction every day.
I am an exceptionally organized and meticulous person, and my attention to detail and ability to manage tasks mean that I always try to introduce order and clarity into every project I work on. I love documentation and analysis – everything I do is based on logical foundations and careful planning. I have a great passion for helping others, but I value specifics and commitment. I appreciate aesthetics and deep thinking that lead to the best solutions, and I always treat constructive feedback as an opportunity for growth.
In my work, I am guided by the principle of professionalism – I believe that specialists should act in a reliable and responsible manner. For me, honesty, commitment, and a common goal that we implement in the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect are most important.
